North Central Public Power District – Peter E. Thomassen Scholarship
In 1990, North Central Public Power District (NCPPD) established the Peter E. Thomassen Scholarship in honor of the late Peter E. Thomassen for his dedicated years of service at NCPPD. Students enrolled in the two-year Utility Line Program at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, and are a customer or a dependent of a customer of NCPPD are eligible for the scholarship.

NCPPD encourages individuals who are looking for a rewarding career, enjoy working outdoors, are safety conscious and who like a challenge to consider a career in the electric utility industry. In over three decades NCPPD has awarded this scholarship to several recipients who have selected the electric utility industry for their career. This scholarship is for tuition only. If you are the recipient of a full tuition scholarship from another party, then you will not be eligible to receive the Peter E. Thomassen Scholarship.

NCPPD’S board of directors will review all scholarship applications submitted and make their selection at the April board meeting. The recipient(s) of the scholarship will be notified by NCPPD. To obtain information about how to apply for this scholarship, please contact your school’s guidance counselor or contact our office.
