Leah Sukup daughter of Ron and Valorie Sukup of Winnetoon, Izaak Vakoc son of Brian and Zoe Vakoc of Verdgire, Jacob Pavelka son of Doug and Jean Pavelka of Verdigre; Gage Vesley son of Jason Vesley and Angela Vesle of Vedigre represented North Central Public Power District at the 2023 Youth Energy Leadership Camp. The camp ran from Sunday, July 9th to Thursday, July 13th at the Comeca Camp near Cozad, Nebraska. These students learned about the electric industry through interesting workshops, fascinating demonstrations and presentations by regional experts addressing the many issues affecting the rural electric program. They tour the Gerald Gentleman Power Station and the Kingsley Hydro-Electric Power Plant for a first-hand look at the process of generating electricity. When asked what they liked about the camp, they said, meeting new people and making life-long friends.
